Do you know where you will spend eternity?
There can be no more important question for you or for your loved ones. After this brief stay on earth, the question of eternity looms on the horizon. People are different in many ways. Each of us is a unique individual with differing backgrounds and experiences. We see things differently. Our lives are different from each others in many ways. But there is one thing we all have in common. Sooner or later we will face death. There is no escaping death. And the uncertain void of eternity stares us in the face. Wouldn't it be a relief to know that when you leave this earth that you had an ironclad guarantee that you would spend eternity in a place of love and comfort.
Fortunately for us, the Lord God has provided just such a guarantee. In the Holy Word of God, the unbreakable promise of God is given to us that we can secure a place in the most wonderful place imaginable; Heaven. God has done the work. God has offered the gift. Now, everything depends on our decision..... and whether you trust and believe what God has to say.
First, you need to understand how dire your situation really is. The Bible tells us that we are born at "enmity" with God. In other words, we are born on the losing side of a terrible conflict. We are in conflict with God. This is because the first man, Adam, disobeyed God in the Garden of Eden, and we, the descendents of Adam are born under a death sentence from the start. We are aligned with the great enemy of God, Satan, and are destined to be forever consigned to Hell with him. Hell is a place of terrible, unending torture, and worse, a place of permanent separation from the love of God.
We can escape this terrible fate only because of the great love of God. Because of this wonderful love, God sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to live on earth as a man, and to die on the cross for our sin. This great gift from God, the life of Jesus offered as a sacrifice for our sin, is the one and only hope we have of bridging the sin gap between God and man. There is no other way given but by the blood of Jesus. Any other way that you have been told is just a lie.
Every single one of us comes to God in the same way. There has not a man been born that has not had to repent of his sin and ask Jesus to save him. It is the only way! The Bible says: "There is none righteous, no not one." (Romans 3:10) And, "For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God." (Romans 3:23)
Our sin, even one sin, is enough to condemn us to Hell. Again, the Word of God tells us, "For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ, our Lord." (Romans 6:23)
Since Jesus has paid the price of our sin on the cross, it is only left for us to believe and to receive the free gift of God. The Bible says, "That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God has raised Him from the dead, thou shalt be saved." (Romans 10:9)
And, "For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved." (Romans 10:13)
This is as plain a truth as can be told. Where you will spend eternity depends on whether you believe God, and whether you act on that belief....or not! "And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. He that hath the Son hath life, and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life." (1 John 5: 11, 12)
I hope and pray that you will choose to believe God and accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior. If you do, and would like to tell us, please contact us as soon as possible and we will help you begin your life as a child of the Living God.
